The “Real Diehl” Italian Sub
When Meuwly’s first opened on 124th st. in July 2018, we launched our lunch menu with a signature Italian Deli sub - named “Real Diehl” after one of Will’s favorite chefs, Craig Diehl from Charleston.
Here’s how to make one at home!
Method:
Slice your favorite sandwich bread (soft focaccia or torpedo buns are great!)
Layer sliced Meuwly’s Capicola, Mortadella, and Salami Cotto, plus Provolone Cheese
We dress ours up with Lettuce, Tomato (season it with salt and pepper!) shaved onions, and pickled pepperoncini
Our house sub sauce can be replicated at home with some Mayo mixed with a bit of Dijon Mustard and Italian Dressing!
